Evan Klinkhart is the nose and brain behind TEMPAUX. He has a degree in perfumery, and from the vast, shifting horizons of Alaska’s wilderness to the precise choreography of drone flight lines, Evan Klinkhart stands as a uniquely modern perfumer whose creativity is as expansive as the landscapes that shaped him. Born and raised in Anchorage Alaska, Evan’s earliest memories are woven with scent: being outdoors till 4am during summer, the calm beaches in Seward poking jellyfish, and the warm, rich spice of campfire smoke while making smores with family.
Evan’s Alaskan roots are not just biographical detail though, they’re the cornerstone of TEMPAUX’s identity. Growing up in the long summers of constant sunlight and winters that can be dark/depressing, Evan learned to observe nuance: the subtle changes to the clouds in the sky, the way temperature and dew point seemed to carry its own tone/vibe, and how even the quietest moments out in nature are alive with sensory detail. For Evan, scent is more than fragrances or even BEASTMODE scents on tiktok: it’s a narrative vehicle, a way to transmute experience into emotion and memory. Transporting you back to a time, and place...
Before jumping into perfumery, Evan cultivated another passion that would later infuse his creative spark: drone piloting. What began as just a fun little hobby, then became his job, mastering the precise controls, building and calibrating UAVs, learning all the safety requirements for safe flights/missions, quickly evolved into a source of artistic inspiration. Using both FPV + GPS drones, he charted Alaskan cities all over the state, and even small villages from all new dimensions, capturing landscapes from new perspectives/heights. Those aerial views taught him to think in many many layers: how patterns overlap, how contrasts define form, and how shifting light and even weather can transform an entire emotion. It’s this aerial sensibility that flow through ALL Tempaux’s fragrances.
In Evan’s scent compositions, you can almost feel the drone’s movement over a mountain pass or a glacier. His scent structures mimic real Drone flight paths: power looping, ascending, and converging toward unexpected harmonies and routes. It’s an approach that blends analytical precision with artistic intuition, a signature style that sets Tempaux apart from the rest.
Yet for Evan, perfumery isn’t only about technical prowess. It’s all about storytelling at its very core honestly... Each 10-50ml bottle he creates is an invitation to Anchorage, (not his house, but you get what I mean lol) to wander along an Alaskan riverbank, to hover above glaciers at dawn, to recall a moment of stillness when the world seemed suspended between breath and the sun setting. His work resonates with those who seek real olfactory experiences/signature scents that are both vivid, layered, and deeply personal.
